Vice Admiral John Fuller, United States Navy (Retired) concluded his distinguished 38-year career as the 42nd Naval Inspector General in September 2025, after serving in that position for more than four years.
During his career, he commanded multiple operational organizations, including an Arleigh Burke guided missile destroyer, a destroyer squadron, a geographic region ashore and an aircraft carrier strike group. Commanding both afloat and ashore gave him unique insights into defining the risks and end-to-end requirements for resourcing and sustaining large and complex organizations. He honed his operational and strategic perspective severing on the Secretary of Defense, Joint, U.S. Northern Command, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), Department of the Navy and Chief of Naval Operation’s staffs.
Vice Admiral Fuller holds a BS in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, an MS in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School and an MA in National Security & Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
