Benjamin McNutt, Analyst, has experience working for elected officials and on projects at the intersection of business, energy, and technology since 2018. Ben supports SMI’s clients through research and analysis of energy and technology policy issues.
Prior to joining SMI, Ben interned for the policy and communication teams of top House and Senate congressional leaders. As a legislative intern, Ben assisted staff on a variety of constituent service tasks and policy issues, including conducting research in support of the Chips and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act. After this role, Ben served as a press intern, providing valuable communications and research assistance to keep senior staff informed on pressing political and policy developments.
Ben holds a B.A. from American University, where he double majored in Political Science and Interdisciplinary Studies: Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics, and Government.
