On Capitol Hill, he worked in the personal offices of Senators Robert Byrd (WV), Byron Dorgan (ND), and Chris Coons (DE) advocating for a range of energy, science and technology, climate change, and appropriations matters. Additionally, he served as a professional staff member on the Senate Appropriations Committee, Energy and Water Subcommittee with a focus on Department of Energy programs.
Mr. Wuerfmannsdobler is a problem-solver with a solid understanding of policy advocacy and strategy at the national level. Through strong, bipartisan partnerships, he secured dozens of provisions in major energy legislation from the 2005 Energy Policy Act through the 2020 Energy Act. He has engaged with a wide range of stakeholders on strategic initiatives, including Fortune 500 companies, startups, non-profits, trade associations, labor interests, and more.
Mr. Wuerfmannsdobler holds an MSc from Oxford University in Environmental Management and International Affairs and a BA in Cultural Studies and History from the University of Denver.
