Gerald Quinnan, Jr., M.D.

Senior executive in the FDA and the DOD medical school
Dr. Gerald Quinnan, Jr. brings over 30 years of experience in biomedical science and public health in the U.S. government, including service as a senior executive in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Department of Defense’s medical school, the Uniformed Services University (USU).

Previously, Dr. Quinnan served as the Acting Director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research at the FDA. As a recognized expert in vaccine development, he served on the Scientific Advisory Board of Aviron, and had a substantial supportive role in development of the FluMist influenza vaccine. Additionally, Dr. Quinnan served as a commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service, rising to the rank of Rear Admiral, and serving as Assistant Surgeon General.

Dr. Quinnan holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross and an M.D. from Saint Louis University.
