Previously, Dr. Andrews led business development of biosciences and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and explosives (CBRNE) at SRI International. Before this, Dr. Andrews was Director of Field Laboratory Operations, where all eight laboratories that encompass Navy Medicine Research and Development including Naval Health Research Center (NHRC), Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU)-San Antonio, NAMRU-Dayton, Navy Submarine Medical Research Laboratory (in Groton, Connecticut), NAMRU-6 in Peru, NAMRU-3 in Egypt, and NMRC-Asia in Singapore and Cambodia were his responsibility. During his tenure, several products were transitioned, including a novel application of phage therapy, rapid diagnostics for malarial disease, a novel norovirus vaccine, and an effective plasmodium falciparum malaria vaccine. In addition to having worked at the FDA as part of the CMC reviewing process, Dr. Andrews has worked to help numerous small molecules and biologics reach marketing approval.
Dr. Andrews earned a Ph.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine and his other degrees from Youngstown State University.
