Chief of Staff for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy
Mr. Jim Kohlenberger has deep policy expertise and understands the policy issues on the cutting edge of new technologies and served as a White House policy advisor to two U.S. presidents.
Mr. Kohlenberger left the White House in 2010 after serving as Chief of Staff for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). He also served for eight years as Senior Domestic Policy Advisor to Vice President Al Gore where he successfully harnessed innovation as an engine for economic growth and opportunity. On innovation policy, he worked to help pass the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and helped shape the administration's hands-off approach to the internet and e-commerce.
Mr. Kohlenberger holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of California, Irvine.
