Kristin Bennett

Kristin Bennett is the founder of KB Science, a strategic consulting firm established in 2008 that serves clients across federal market sectors including advanced materials, nanoscience, clean energy, nuclear security, and defense. With over 30 years of experience as a scientist, laboratory manager, and federal program director, she is a recognized federal strategist and trusted advisor to corporations, small businesses, national laboratories, and academic institutions. Kristin has held senior leadership roles at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where she developed the HIPPO time-of-flight neutron scattering spectrometer and managed major DOE programs in ultrafast light and neutron instrumentation. She also led the DOE’s $500M+ Nanoscale Science Research Centers initiative.

Kristin currently serves as Vice President at Van Scoyoc Consulting, where she focuses on expanding federal business in the energy sector. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics at the University of California and an elected member of the U.S. National Committee for Crystallography. She holds a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of California at Berkeley and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College, with additional studies at Dartmouth College and King’s College London. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at GeoForschungsZentrum in Germany.
