Mary Wentworth, Associate, brings extensive experience from Capitol Hill, where she worked in the House and Senate for both appropriators and authorizers.
Prior to joining SMI, Mary served as Military Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Terri Sewell, where she managed her work on the House Armed Services Committee and advised on defense, appropriations, veterans, and foreign affairs. Most recently, Mary led the Congresswoman’s work as Ways & Means Oversight Subcommittee Ranking Member.
In previous roles, Mary handled a wide range of issues, including energy and homeland security appropriations for Congresswoman Lauren Underwood and tax, transportation, and housing for Senator Tammy Baldwin. Mary was the appropriations aide while with Senator Tammy Baldwin, and she got her start on the Hill with Senator Tammy Duckworth.
Mary holds a B.A. in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While on Capitol Hill, she was pursuing an M.A. in Defense and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
