Michael Parisi, Analyst, focuses on defense and national security policy across civil and military space, the missile industrial base, munitions, and nuclear deterrence, supporting SMI’s clients through research and analysis of these issues.

 Prior to joining SMI, Michael was a Senior Associate at Velocity Government Relations, where he supported defense and aerospace clients through policy research, appropriations and authorization analysis, and stakeholder briefings. He also served as a part-time G2 Research Fellow with the U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command, producing open-source intelligence assessments of Chinese and Russian military activity in the Indo-Pacific.

 Michael holds an M.A. in Government from Georgetown University, where his research examined the convergence of conventional and gray zone threats to U.S. allies in Europe and the Pacific and U.S. strategic competition with China. He also holds a B.A. in International Relations and Modern History from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where his studies focused on Chinese foreign policy and early modern European political and military history.
