Paul Gay, Vice President, is a veteran government affairs and federal marketing specialist. Paul utilizes his 30+ years of experience, including fourteen serving as a senior policy adviser in the U.S. Congress, to help his clients shape and secure federal funding support. Prior to joining SMI, Paul served as Deputy Legislative Director and floor staff for Senator Robert C. Byrd of West Virginia, Deputy Chief of Staff for Rep. Brian Baird of Washington, and Legislative Director for Rep. Rick Boucher of Virginia. In these roles, Paul worked on projects and issues related to agriculture, defense, energy, space, telecommunications, and transportation. Paul also helped secure federal appropriations for technology R&D programs, infrastructure projects, and economic development efforts.
Paul holds a B.S. in Political Science from Radford University and a M.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
