Sydney Rovner is an analyst at SMI with a background in international relations and climate policy who specializes in trade and sustainable energy technologies and solutions.

Prior to joining SMI, Sydney worked with the Maritime Innovation Coalition advancing federal support for fuel and port infrastructure development and the National Hydropower Association helping to coordinate policy, regulatory, and legislative priorities. During a traineeship with the Delegation of the European Union to the United States, she focused on advancing transatlantic cooperation on climate innovation in Congress and the White House.

Sydney earned a B.A. in International Studies and Romance Languages from The Ohio State University and an M.A. in European Public Policy from Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. In her free time, she loves to read, bake, and find ways to speak Spanish, French, and Italian.
