Walter Hearne is the sole proprietor of Hearne Consulting LLC, which he founded after a 25-year career on Capitol Hill, including more than 22 years with the majority staff of the House Appropriations Committee. During his tenure, Walter played a key role in the development and passage of over 30 appropriations bills. He gained extensive expertise in defense acquisition programs, including major Air Force and joint initiatives such as the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, B-21 Raider, nuclear modernization efforts, and a wide range of aircraft, munitions, and ground system programs. His experience also spans work with the Intelligence Community, Defense cyber initiatives, “fourth estate” agencies, and military construction projects. Upon his retirement, Walter received bipartisan recognition as a trusted advisor to members of both parties.
Walter holds a B.S. in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from James Madison University. He resides in Williamsburg, Virginia.
