WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 7, 2021: Strategic Marketing Innovations (SMI) announces that William Willkomm has joined the firm as an Analyst. Mr. Willkomm was an American Rescue Plan Act Fellow at the National Association of Counties in the Strategic Relations department where he worked to develop relationships with corporate partners to further the association’s mission. 

Prior to Mr. Willkomm’s time at the National Association of Counties he served as a congressional intern for Senator Susan Collins (ME) and Representative Elaine Luria (VA-02). In these roles, he conducted policy research, handled communication with constituents, and drafted correspondence.

After having served in various internships and fellowships with prominent associations and members of Congress, Mr. Willkomm looks to build upon his current policy experience with SMI and its clients. He will be supporting an extensive defense-related portfolio while bringing an expertise in legislative process and procedure.

William holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Maine and will soon complete his coursework towards an M.P.S. in Legislative Affairs at the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management.
